Mark your Calendars:
Saturday, Sept. 30 noon to 4PM 50th Anniversary Jubilee &
Community Celebration
Our 50th Anniversary Jubilee & Community Celebration has grown well beyond the Pacific Palisades Community Council. We we have reached to include the community, inviting all local organizations to take part in the festivities. Those joining us include:
Palisades PRIDE, Temescal Canyon Association, the Village Green, Pacific Palisades Baseball Association, Santa Monica Canyon Civic Association, the Pacific Palisades Library Association, Theatre Palisades, the Historical Society, Palisades Forestry Committee, the PP Woman's Club, AYSO Region 69, PP YMCA (our hosts for Simon Meadow), the new joint Malibu/Pacific Palisades Chamber, the Palisadian Post and even the Fourth of July Parade at 75 years. This is quite a celebration – with Sam Lagagna as MC!
City Councilwoman Traci Park and County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath along with Senator Ben Allen and Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin will join to present Cerificates, Resolutions and Scrolls to PPCC, Organizational honorees and the YMCA (Simon Meadow). Congressman Brad Sherman will send staff to present PPCC with a US Flag, and each organization will give its own awards… Consider this an invitation for all to attend!
We thank you for helping spread the word. A lot of time and preparation has gone into this event and – we’d love to have a great turnout to Celebrate Community!
There will be booths, music, food, presentations, balloons and crafts for kids, awards, speeches, recognition and even a grant made to our host location!
I am pleased to announce that contract work on Temescal Canyon Road is set to begin on Monday, October 2.
Repairing this road has been a top priority for Councilwoman Park, who recognizes it as the central traffic artery of the Palisades--and vital for emergency preparedness. Because of that, the Councilwoman expedited a motion through the City Council to secure funding for the repairs and collaborated closely with relevant city departments to ensure the process was completed promptly.
The Bureau of Engineering has advised us that the repairs are projected to be finished around the end of October. The streets will remain open to local traffic. The workers, trucks, supplies, and equipment should be out of the way of traffic.
Sincerely,
--
