We continue to encourage Palisadians to submit
nominations of worthy community members
for these special honors!
Send nominations toinfo@pacpalicc.org no later than 5pm, this coming Friday, October 17.
A few words about awards eligibility:
The Golden Sparkplug award is for community members who voluntarily ignited an original effort or project that was initiated, in progress or completed within the past year or two, which benefitted the entire community. Persons eligible for Sparkplug awards include Palisades youth as well as adult residents, property owners and/or business operators.
Citizen of the Year honors are bestowed on special individuals who have contributed both long term voluntary serviceplus a recent extraordinary accomplishment for the betterment of the Palisades. Adult residentsof Pacific Palisades are eligible for Citizen of the Year.
Optional Pride of the Palisades honors may sometimes be awarded in exceptional cases, at the discretion of the Awards Selection Committee: Daphne Gronich (Committee Chair, PAPA rep to PPCC and past Citizen of the Year); Richard Blumenberg (Civic League rep to PPCC), Karen Ridgley (Area 4 elected rep), Chris Spitz (At-large elected rep and past Citizen of the Year), and Cindi Young (Area 1 alternate rep and immediate past Citizen of the Year).
The Awards will be presented at the 2025 Awards Dinner / Gala event at SpruzzoRestaurant & Bar in the Palisades, on December 11, 2025! Plans for the special evening are underway, with the Awards Event Committee working hard on the arrangements: Lorie Cudzil (Committee Chair and Area 6 elected rep; Kimberly Bloom (Area 5 elected rep), Beth Holden Garland (PPCC Secretary), and Lee Anne Sanderson (Area 4 alternate rep).
