Coastal Commission Map Clarification

Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC) recently learned of rumors that coastal zone maps had been redrawn or were in the process of being redrawn in certain neighborhoods of the Palisades. Since we were unaware of this and had not received notice of any intent by the California Coastal Commission to change the coastal zone boundary in our area, PPCC Chair George Wolfberg recently wrote to the Commission for clarification.
PPCC Letter to Coastal Commission
We received the following response:

Hello Mr. Wolfberg,

Thank you for your e-mail. The coastal zone boundary cannot be changed without approval from the Coastal Commission. We are not aware of any efforts to change the coastal zone boundary in Pacific Palisades at this time. If any changes were purposed, there would be a public hearing before the Commission on the matter during which the public could express any concerns or support for such an adjustment. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

If PPCC receives notice in the future of any effort
to change the Pacific Palisades coastal zone boundary,
we will of course let the community know.
