What's on the Agenda?

 
The PPCC Awards Selection Committee (ASC) will announce the names of the 2024 Awards honorees: Citizen of the Year (COTY), Golden Sparkplug and potential Pride of the Palisades awards recipients.

The members of the Awards Selection Committee are:  Committee Chair Quentin Fleming (PPCC VP) and Members Sharon Kilbride (past COTY), Karen Ridgley, JoAnna Rodriguez and Chris Spitz (past COTY).

Zoom-in to the PPCC meeting on November 14 to learn the names and achievements of all the award winners . . . and mark your calendars for December 12, when our Gala Awards celebration will take place at Casa Nostra Ristorante in the Highlands -- more details to come!

Upcoming PPCC Meetings / Dates

November 14, 2024:  PPCC meeting (via Zoom):  Citizen of the Year, Golden Sparkplugs and a possible Pride of the Paliasdes honoree will be announced!

December 12, 2024:  PPCC Holiday Awards Gala event, celebrating the honorees -- at Casa Nostra Ristorante in the Highlands . . . Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

Note: there is one PPCC meeting only in November and December; the holiday Awards event replaces the regular business meeting in December.

LAUSD Board District 4 School Beautification Day: Saturday, November 16, 9:00 am -1:00 pm, at Paul Revere Charter Middle School.  All are invited to participate and to sponsor and/or donate to the event.  See information from District 4 Board Member Nick Melvoin at Beautification Day or click on the graphic.
10th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot -- 5K/10K Run:  Thursday, November 28, 7:30 am - 11 am . Run begins and ends at  the football field (Dolphin Stadium), Palisades Charter High School -- start time 8:15 am.  Click on the graphic or here for more details (including info. about road closures).
NEW -- City Council Planning & Land Use (PLUM) Committee Hearing:  December 3, 2pm, at LA City Hall, John Ferraro Council Chamber, Rm. 340, 200 N. Spring St., Los Angeles. Hearing of CEQA appeals related to the controversial Tramonto / Revello  residential development project.  See the Hearing Notice for more details.

NEW -- LAPD Holiday Toy Drive:  Nov. 1st - Dec. 17th, at the West LA Community Police Station,1663 Butler Ave. (drop off unwrapped and new toys for kids ages 8-12 at front lobby). For more information, see the flyer linked in the graphic and here.

LAPD invites community members to attend the 2025 Community Police Academy, January 16 - March 26, 2025, weekly on Wednesday evenings at the West LA Community Police Station Roll Call Room, 1663 Butler Ave., Los Angeles.
