PPCC  Position Updates

Recent PPCC Actions:

On June 29, 2025, the PPCC Executive Committee submitted a letter in strong support of a motion by Councilwoman Park, to be heard on July 1 by the full City Council, that would ban disaster tour bus operations in the Palisades.  See the PPCC EC's letter HERE

As noted, we completely agree with CW Park that "turning a site of devastating tragedy and loss into a spectacle exploited for profit . . . is despicable and should not be tolerated in the City of Los Angeles."

At the last PPCC meeting on June 26, the Board unanimously approved a motion spelling out the authority of the Grants Committee, well as the Board's sole authority to approve grants/donations from PPCC.  The Grants Committee will now begin to develop rules/guidelines regarding applications and eligibility for such grants, consistent with the Board's motion.

See more information about the Committee and the approved authority
HEREWe expect to provide more information about the process in the near future..

The Board also unanimously passed a modified version of a motion recommended by the Westside Regional Alliance of Councils (a coalition of all 14 NCs and CCs on the Westside, including PPCC) calling for a ban on riding e-bikes on sidewalks in Los Angeles. See the version passed by PPCC HERE.  The motion has been passed by 7 member councils to date; if/when it is passed by 8 (a majority), it will become an adopted position of WRAC and can be advocated as such.
